¨There are few places in my life that I’ve found more ruggedly beautiful than the Highlands of Scotland. The place is magical – it’s so far north, so remote, that sometimes it feels like you’ve left this world and gone to another.”

A different newsletter this week for you.
We have just come back home from a magical time in the Scottish Highlands. No phone reception. Rugged landscapes. Wild animals. And the drive home was through a winter wonderland with at times -9C.
So whilst we are now busy unpacking, here a few images for you.
First up, we were encircled by stags on the night of our arrival:

We spent the afternoons exploring the local ‘lake’, Loch Torridon:
Our big boy and our toddler and I went on a 5 hour hike to a local pub, where we met the family for dinner. At times it felt like we were in Canada:
And on our walk we found this gorgeous little beach:
The road to Applecross, which was again littered with stags watching us approach on tired feet:
And every night, we had this as our entertainment:
Now, on to more unpacking.
P.S. If you work for the Scottish Tourist Board, I am happy to take commissions…
Beautiful. This makes me miss camping, I need to get back out!
